PREVIEW 2010 World Cup: Germany vs. Australia

The press called this fight a tricky game, because it will affect the fate of both teams in Group D.
For Germany, this fight to be won so do not want to work extra hard in the face of Serbian and Ghana. Tim Panzer spread threats since the preparation, by scoring in all three games from warming; against Malta, Hungary, and Bosnia-Herzegovina. The most impressive victory was obtained when the defeat of Bosnia.
"We've done everything we could. We can not do more than that," said Joachim Loew, coach of Germany.
Loew quite satisfied with his team's performance, but the press criticized the policy of selecting players based on reputation more than performance. He is more like Miroslav Klose, who aged 32 years and more sitting on the bench in Bayern, rather than Cacau.
He also prefers another striker Podolski instead. Loew seemed convinced Klose will be able to look like in the World Cup in 2002 and 2006, and Podolski was still able to play like in Euro 2008.
For Australia, this may not be the first game must-win game, but the must-draw games. Scenario Pim Verbeek is reaching a point against Germany, and hard work in the following two games against Serbia and Ghana.
Verbeek did not really expect much could reach three figures, relating the results did not impress in three friendly matches, beating New Zealand and Danish, and U.S. dipecundangi 3-1.
In addition, Verbeek is not Guus Hiddink. Under Hiddink, coach of Australia's respected because it has a rich reputation. Verbeek relatively simply have a name in the Asian region.
Will reduce the squad, Verbeek still the same as in the past four years. The difference, he no longer plays a 3-3-3-1 system inherited from Hiddink, but a more pragmatic 4-2-3-1.
If Loew does not have a problem with injured players, Verbeek still has not decided whether to make Brett Emerton and Harry Kewell as a starter or not. Both say they have recovered, but doubts could play 90 minutes.
Australia has three times the attendance at the World Cup, two previously; 1974 and 2006, on German soil. Philipp Lahm will be the German national team captain termuka, ie at the age of 26 when substitute Michael Ballack.

German situation
Loew is likely to reduce the starting XI that appears against Bosnia-Herzegovina, with Lukas Podolski, Piotr Trochowski, Miroslav Klose and, in a position to attack, along with Mesut Ozil. Holger Badstuber also still be inhabiting left-back, with Arne Friedrich and Per Mertesacker jatung duet on defense. Captain Philipp Lahm operate on the right. In midfield, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Sami Khedira will co-exist.
Cacau, Marko Marin, and Thomas Mueller, must be willing to sit on the bench, although all three looked impressive during a friendly.
The expected composition of Players: Neuer - Lahm, Friedrich, Mertesacker, Badstuber - Khedira, Schweinsteiger - Trochowski, Ozil, Podolski - Klose

Australian Situation
Good news comes in the Australian training camp. Tim Cahill, Brett Emerton and Harry Kewell, fit enough to be a starter in the opening match. But everything depends Pim Verbeek, to decide whether all three fell in the first minute. Cahill has certainly become a starter, but maybe not the other two. Richard Garcia and Joshua Kennedy is more appropriate.
Unpleasant news also emerged. Goalkeeper Brad Jones decided to withdraw from the Italian national team with family reasons. Akibatanya, Verbeek called Eugene Galekovic as a replacement. Galekovic will sit on the bench when Australia face the Germans.
The expected composition of Players: Schwarzer - Wilkshire, Moore, Neill, Chipperfield - Culina, Grella - Garcia, Cahill, Bresciano - Kennedy
Eligible players Observed
Cacau: Cacau might play off the bench, but also how many minutes he plays the public will wait for the action. He is actually superior to Klose, but Loew prefers mendudukannya on the bench. Played 180 minutes in a friendly, Brazilian-born player scored three goals.
He is more creative, and become a new dimension in the German national team. If given a chance in the first match of World Cup 2010, anyone will be convinced Cacau scored his first goal.
Tim Cahill: If there are players of Australia's most shining moment facing the United States, perhaps only Tim Cahill. He scored, but is constantly threatening the U.S. defense. Privileged Cahill is in its ability to move the opponent's defense, and finished feed. Germany knew Cahill must be maintained throughout the game, but Cahill was convinced he could defeating anyone.

Prediction
There should be no mistake in this fight. Few Germans do it, Australia will be able to exploit it. This first group stage match, so anything can happen.
Germany might be able to win this fight, but had to fight extra hard to produce a goal. Australia will only rely on Cahill. When the German back line could mentralisir pergerakannhya, Socceroos bite the fingers.
Germany won the match 47 per cent seeded. Australia only 24 per cent. Possible series 29 per cent.
Germany 2-0 Australia

  1. Australia looked a little more promising against the USA but that game was far too open in the second half to compare it to a World Cup opening group match.

Having said that I feel the Germans will have far too much in attack to come away goalless and in my opinion will only need one goal which surely they can get with all their attacking options.
