Ferdinand will not Return to South Africa

England really lose Rio Ferdinand. The captain will undergo a series of treatments in Carrington, Manchester, and certainly will not return to South Africa.

Yes, Ferdinand injured his knee during practice. Manchester United's tough defender was forced to miss the World Cup this time, and just decorate the bench when the Three Lions play against the United States 1-1 in Group C opening match allowance, last weekend.

Ban the previous captain John Terry's abortive Ferdinand used in South Africa. Coach Fabio Capello also entrust Steven Gerrard to inherit it.

Now, Ferdinand returned to United for tests. Based on the statement released at Old Trafford, implicitly, Ferdinand will not return to South Africa in order to offer moral support in Gerrard et al.

"This week, Rio has been handled by medical staff at Carrington and his knee injury showed good growth," said a club statement, quoted from the Goal, Friday (06/18/2010).

"Medical staff suggested two weeks recovery time with family, before returning to Carrington to complete the healing process," said the statement.
