Playing 0-0 during normal time 90 minutes and 2x15-minute extra-time, Japan should finally lift the leg from South Africa after losing 3-5 on penalties.
"When seen from the way we play, I do not regret it. There was absolutely no regrets. The players played well, very good," Japan coach Takeshi Okada said after the match at Reuters.
In the game, Japan did not actually lose the class from Paraguay. Even if calculated in terms of quality chances, the Japanese just so the team closest to the goal.
But almost scoring with a goal that is not the same. Japan must be cursing their failure to end the game before the penalty kicks because of inability to break down the opponent's goal.
"All the changes and the changes that I made I intend to enforce the goals," said Okada who escaped to target Japan's semi-final.
